Still at work on a couple of things which we're really excited about, but sometimes they take longer than you expect and you find yourself with not a whole lot to say here other than "we're still at work on a couple of things."

In the meantime, why don't you go see us play some songs in person? There's a lot of them to hear and a lot of opportunities to hear them, and if you're in the following places that aren't Seattle on the following days:

(maybe) Portland, OR on March 22nd

Boise, ID (on March 24th as part of Treefort Fest)

Walla Walla, WA (on March 25th at someone's house, probably with Chastity Belt, the best band in the world)

you can even see us there.

in the meantime, here are some things you can do:

1. watch Cool Dog on Netflix.

2. collect the following Lil B mixtapes, some of which contain good songs: White Flame, Red Flame, Evil Red Flame, Red Flame Devil Music Edition, Blue Flame, Black Flame.

3. compulsively refresh Facebook, Tumblr, and whatever else even though nothing changes even when the content does. Install Horse_ebookmarklet to make these things considerably more interesting.

On December 15th at noon we'll be playing a short set in the press room of the Seattle Times with Damien Jurado. This won't be 'open to the public,' but it'll be 'public' in that you can watch it online as it happens. More details on all of this are available here.

Last night, before Andy and Isabel and I went out to go see Joe Waine, Pascal, and his bro, perform a Temple Vibe set, we did a little show of our own

Austin, my guitar student, gave me a flier and we emailed the people, and got the gig i guess

it was really crazy.

they hated us, those metal core kids were crazy for anything but some DYT

they were like "go away, we don't know what you mean when you...."

our stuff might have been a little "misdirected" at them

need to have shows where more older people come maybe. in two weeks, we will release an ep (maybe)(maybe because it might be a record, and that it also might be like ~ 4 weeks or something, idk)

we're playing a Halloween party in Seattle on Saturday. click here for additional information and we'll update here in a day or two with everything you need to know once times and other bands are confirmed. in keeping with tradition we will be playing with our dear friends and former aesthetic peers the Tender Hips.

this'll be our first show as a three-piece and our first in five months. so we're looking forward to seeing you, we have some new songs for you to hear (and a lot of old ones that don't quite sound like they did when you heard them in the desert, if you heard them in the desert, or on the record, if you heard the record, which you might have).

last night Matt and I saw The Social Network.
Movie was so good. damn.

Matt told me that, when approached, Aaron Sorkin wrote a 200 paged screen play. As it goes, usually 1 page dialogue = 1 minute of film. The studio was all like "get that shit out of here dog"
but David Fincher was like "no"
and then he was like, "Aaron Sorkin: read this to me as fast as you can, I am going to time you"
and it took a little under two hours, and David Fincher was like "and that is how we are going to make this movie"

Jesse Eisenberg (solid actor, Squid and the Whale (tight), Zombieland (pretty tight (saw that shit with Nadim and he cried in the car afterwards listening to Sinead O'Connor Nothing Compares 2 U))) was hella good at Mark Zuckerberg.

before the movie we wrote a song. it was tight. it has some good stuff in it about JFK (not the airport). in fact, it is all about JFK. for those of you who listened to White Vowels (dont) it is something of a "re-write" of the song Come On Come On. It's going to be like Don Delillo the song. LIBRA (not the DC comics villain in Final Crisis though dudes, keep it straight).

Damn Dudes,

thought that u all should know, that our pal: Matt Aliabadi, has joined our band. We're not a "two-piece" now, we are a "three-piece."

matt is cool. im stoked we have a cool new person in our band.

my (peter) fb profile pic used to be a pic of matt. and for a much shorter time, his profile pic was me. my pic of him was him drunk (maybe, but also maybe not(it could have been him after he was mugged with Nadim in chicago like 2 years ago)) with words photo shopped over it: "O M fucking G"

his profile pic (of me(peter)) was me with my shotgun on the phone with him taking a photobooth pic of it to show him. it has text shopped onto it too: "Peter totally has a gun"

we have rehearsed like three times now (maybe a total of 6 hrs playing together) and we sound kinda like

a new band i guess

its pretty sweet though, i gotta be honest, we are (in a way) a 'way better band' than before.
but like before we are still SUPER DOWN (aka: as interested as possible in) playing concerts in seattle/likeanywhere.

jesus. it is raining soo hard.

i wonder if Gaurav Majumdar is going to like our band now that Matt is involved in it.

after (but maybe right before) matt graduated from college (we (andrew and i) are(were?) like a year behind) mine and andrew's English Major Advisor Gaurav Majumdar would often reference them as a hip band on campus. He wouldn't let me into his senior sem, and got along fine with andrew, so maybe now we will be cool enough for him to be 'in' to us.

most likely is that Matt was way better at English Major than either myself or Andrew (Andrew was pretty good at it)

last night after band practice and diner with my parents and sister at my house andrew and i went to a bar in ballard, (look, i already did a google search of Hazelwood to find the website, but gave up)

here is the point though, dude, because we got raffle tix at the bar, and then out of NOWHERE i won two xbox 360 games. and we decided that andrew was going to sell them, maybe. or maybe they will be nice gifts later.

new recordings coming soon, maybe a tape ep will be released soon. we talked about it for like >5 seconds.

A FEW THINGS TO ADDRESS:

1. we are 'making our serious record'. Jared told us that we sounded much fuller when he saw us than when he listened to our EP, so we got some people to lend us their ears and their equipment so that we can make something that sounds kind of like that. David Kanaga is assisting.

2. we are playing at least two shows this week.

ONE: release party on Tuesday night for Red Light Blue Light and Tender Hips' records. Ours won't be done, but there might be a single or something from us. It takes place at TKE, Tender Hips go on at 9, we go on at 10.

TWO: Beta-Fest on Wednesday night at the building labeled BETA. A lot of bands are playing it. We play at 8:15 maybe.

3. We may play one more at the end of the week. that will be our 'last show in walla walla/maybe ever.' hopefully not.

last weekend we played a show at rosaacs and i think it rocked. Deirdre Gorman didn't "like" (as though facebook right?) our set up, cuz we experimented with audience placement/lighting as elements to have control over in our performance. I thought it was "tight" Deirdre. we added a new song too, Finn Straley sang over and rocked the mic. literally. it was really fun. Kyle Maestez bumped in to me real hard cuz everyone was moshing at me during the show and to get space i tried to kick him. accidentally ended up kicking Julien Martineau. Sorry Julien. Meant to kick kyle.

"Troy" is located across the street from Tony's Subshop on isaacs. It is the last house on Isaacs before Clinton street and the Elementary School.

Andrew wants us to take it down by sunday, if that happens it will be because we are trying to make it sound better or something. We recorded this 'ep' over the course of like 3 days with the macbook microphone on my computer. We are borth pretty proud of it.
